Well, I've been asked to share one of my bra catastrophe stories. Mine are pretty much tame, nothing too interesting. I've had the common problems - straps falling down, straps too tights, and not the right cup fit (since not every retailer may not go by the same scale).
So I've asked some of my friends & family to share and here are some below:
My sister and I were in Shanghai and we figured my sister would be able to find a bra there since she's small. We went to the bra section and in my broken Chinese, I tried to ask for her size. So I got the band size right but couldn't figure out how to ask for the cup size. The lady saw I was having trouble so she looked at my sister, reached out and copped a feel of her boob. Then she said okay in Chinese and walked away. We just stood there in shock and looked at each other then laughed. Funny thing was, when she came back with 5 different style bras, they all fit perfectly!

One time I was walking to work and the eyelets within the stitching came loose. I had to walk with my arms down to keep it from falling.

I was dancing with some friends when, I guess, I was dancing really hard that my underwire broke in half in the back! Not my best scene.

A couple of times the strap has snapped and then people could see it hanging or it would start sliding down. Many times I've had strapless bras that wouldn't stay up and would slide down my dress and then I wouldn't be covered. One time the wire was broken and was essentially coming out of my bra. Someone was like what is that? (because they could see it from the top of my shirt) and I'm just like, oh nothing...
Yikes! So tell me, do you have any of your own bra-tastrophe stories?

yes i have one. well i wear a bigger size and i went to Victoria secret and this is when i didnt know i would have to shop online and at nordstrom for my size. anyhoo, i go and this lady puts me in the biggest size they had she was convinced that i was smaller than her. I didnt know nor care I just wanted a new bra. She told me to wear that size but it clearly didnt fit she said well maybe im doing something wrong. so i tried another store and they told me another size didnt fit neither. then i finally went to nordstrom and they got it correct just by looking at me. not only was i wearing two band sizes too big my cup was way too small .
ReplyDeleteFunny, and I love the title. I don't have any stories like that.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh..Being a guy, I had better move on before I get myself in trouble.
ReplyDeleteOh do I!! I was in high school playing volleyball one day wearing a bra that opened in the front and when I hit the ball over the net my bra came undone and it was sooooo noticeable!! My shirt puffed out and I remember a guy in my class's eyes suddenly becoming glued to my chest! It was sooooo embaressing!! I don't think I've ever worn a bra that opened in the front again! =P

Haha! Your friend who shared the Shanghai story made me laugh. I had similar experiences when living in China. Especially when being measured for custom made clothes. Oh good times. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how I feel about this show, but if it's helping women get fitted properly, then more power to them!
ReplyDeletethis show might be interesting. thanks for sharing about it

I'm pretty small, and have never had anything "fall out" or break or anything like that...it sort of makes me relieved and sad at the same time. (Although I recently had an almost bikini bottom mishap...I have plenty in that area...)
ReplyDeleteFortunately, I don't have any bratastrophies :) But I think that this show definitely looks interesting.
